Berlin artist Moli released new pop single “On The Weeknd”. The song is inspired by her move to Berlin. “When I first arrived as an 18 year old, I was so shocked when someone told me the clubs were open all weekend, all day and night. Coming from a relatively small town in Belgium, this was something that seemed absolutely crazy to me. After being there a couple years, I feel like I now understand the city so much more. Berlin is a hub for lost souls. People who have just quit their jobs or divorced or that simply got lost. They come to Berlin to have a good time, take drugs and escape reality. The magic and danger about Berlin is that the party never really stops and especially on the weekend. This was my main inspiration for this song. But also in general in our society, the weekend is an escape from reality. We run away from our responsibilities until monday hits us with the truth. It’s about drinking or taking substances to run away from whatever is tormenting you in the real world.” She said about her new club banger.
MOLI – An artist that inhabits an environment of her own. With her unique vocal character, her voice is immediately recognisable. A natural writer and thrilling performer. An exciting artist that stays true to her personal language and tells stories from a unique and vibrant perspective. MOLI is spearheading the international pop generation. Born in Belgium to an English mother and a South African father, she’s based in Berlin, has recorded with huge Stockholm and London pop factories, and right now has her sights set on Los Angeles. The world has shrunk, but her multi-lingual ambitions just keep getting bigger.
