Los Angeles artist Sophie Bom stepped away from songwriting for the likes of Britney Spears and Kendrick Lamar during her pregnancy, opting to spend those nine months on a honest full-length project called Housewife. The lead single “Kimono Mix” is a beautiful track accompanied by a soft piano and amazing vocals. In the song, she proclaims “I’m gonna turn this house into a home.” The album’s nine tracks are fittingly self-produced with assistance from David Greenbaum (Beck, Robyn, Jenny Lewis) as Sophie delivers deeply personal meditations on motherhood that offer a lens into an often overlooked world.
