The four-track EP features four brand new tracks all woven around the central theme of the dark and light of love and loving; lead single and EP title track – the rapturous ‘Wonder Years’, the sweet lament ‘Miss You More’ – the soaring ‘Too Close’ and bittersweet ‘Again’. “Wonder Years” is going to be a fan favorite as it gives off a sense of fresh air and freedom with the guitars and the lead singers sweet vocals.
Speaking about the EP, Martin says, “I often find myself reminiscing about young love and all of the beautiful and tragic experiences that come with it. Wonder Years (EP) is me trying to come to terms with the phrase “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”. My first heartbreak really shook me to my core, but at the same time, it brought out my creative nature. This body of work is simply my personal stories of coping with lost love and the chaos it brings to the soul.”
Going further into lead single he explains, “Wonder Years is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. Quite simply, it’s a story about passion between two people and their ignorance to the true love that they’re experiencing. The inspiration for this song came from a lot of relationships, summer flings, etc. that I experienced. I tend to romanticize nostalgia, so this record is my reflecting on some of those times and wondering if what I experienced was deeper than I realized at the time. I’m asking all the people I’ve ever had anything with, “Do You Wonder?” because if we’re both wondering, maybe we missed out on something extraordinary. The song is certainly directed towards my first love, but the stories came from all different places. The “Wonder Years” are just those special times with special people, that no one likes to talk about, but can’t forget.”
Patrick Martin recently completed an extensive US tour supporting Grace VanderWaal and just this past week finished up touring the UK with Kodaline including a London show at The Roundhouse.

Patrick Martin, raised in Saukville, Wisconsin is the small-town boy who wants to conquer the big city. He’s an old soul with a young spirit who rules the stage, the bold, brash performer who spends his spare time caring for abandoned animals at his local dog shelter. He’s a contradiction, but it all kind of makes sense when you let his potent songwriting wash over you.
